Fremont Flowers and Gifts was originally opened in 1956 in the back of historic Centerville Train Depot. In 1958, it was moved to the corner of Fremont Blvd and Peralta in the Alice Miller Building. It was purchased in 1959 by Mildred Iverson. She operated the shop in that location until her retirement in 1984. The Lorenz Family purchased the shop in January of that year and conducted business there until the family moved the business to Thornton Plaza shopping center in 1989. Located at the corner of Moraine and Thornton, the shop grew quickly. In 1994, the business moved again to the old Jeep car dealership on Fremont Blvd near Alder Ave. It operated in this location for the next 12 years until growing pains once again necessitated a move to the historic Cloverdale Creamery building on Fremont Blvd. near Thornton Ave. In this larger facility, the shop grew once again with the addition of East Bay Flowers...wholesale florist. The retail side of the business continues to serve its extensive customer base, while the wholesale side serves other retail florist in the Tri-City area and beyond.
